Solar Plexus Chakra Healing.

The Solar Plexus is located in the centre of the torso. Physiologically the solar plexus is a nerve centre which plays a very important role in regulating the functioning of the body’s organs, metabolism and the nervous system, in particular how we respond to stress. Energetically the Solar Plexus Chakra helps us to tap into our creativity, our warrior energy, our confidence and self-esteem.

When our solar plexus is balanced we are confident, but not arrogant; assertive, but not aggressive; creative, driven and able to stand up for ourselves. We can put ideas into action and achieve our goals.

Solar Plexus energy is masculine and fiery in nature, working with the Solar Plexus is often a transformational process. The energy invoked in Solar Plexus work is like the Phoenix rising from the ashes burning with fresh creativity, ready to initiate the next chapter of life, replenished and renewed.

Symptoms of Solar Plexus Imbalance:

  • Lack of confidence leading to fears, anxiety and low self esteem.
  • Over confidence leading to arrogance.
  • Fear of rejection and abandonment.
  • Inability to set and/or maintain personal boundaries.
  • Unable to advocate for, defend, stand up for or assert Oneself.
  • Aggressively asserting Oneself at the expense of others.
  • Being domineering, controlling or intimidating.
  • Allowing yourself to be intimidated, controlled or used.
  • Being a people pleaser.
  • Being unable or unwilling to ask for help – due to anxiety, over independence or unbalanced self-pride.
  • Inability to act upon our thoughts, ideas and goals due to inertia, apathy or lack of confidence.

Solar Plexus Chakra Healing:

Colour: The colour to work with while doing Solar Plexus healing is yellow. This is the colour that uplifts and brings lighter, higher vibrational energy. Linking to the colour yellow can be done in many ways including eating yellow food, wearing yellow clothes and jewellery, burning yellow candles, visualisation during meditation or yoga, drawing or painting with the different shades of yellow.

Fire Elemental Healing: The Solar Plexus chakra can be described with the analogy of the ‘fire in your belly’. Incorporating fire into your solar plexus work can lend a strength to and intensify the process. Fire is by nature intense and the Solar Plexus responds well to intense energies as this is your energetic power centre. Fire can be visualised to cleanse and purify your Solar Plexus, as well as to ignite, empower and/or regenerate your personal power and restore balance to the chakra after doing inner work related to Solar Plexus issues. Burning candles, bonfires, fire scrying, sun salutations, spending time in the sun, or focusing on any kind of creative activity are all great for connecting with the fire element.

Journaling/Father Wound Healing: For me personally, this is the big one. Father wounds have affected me my entire life and still do to this day. Issues relating to fear of abandonment or rejection, lack of support and protection, lack of self esteem, lack of confidence, holding the false belief that you are unlovable, undeserving of love, unworthy and not important enough to be a priority for others and therefore yourself – all of these are issues that often arise from Father wounds. Further to this, issues such as embarrassment, humiliation, guilt and shame can have Father wounding at the root of them due to the fact that many situations that arise in a person with these types of wounds are simply not situations a person with healthy supportive relationships with their father would ever allow themselves to be in. I have had flashbacks while doing this work that have brought back moments of pure shame, embarrassment and humiliation to me. Working through these, understanding why these flashbacks are occurring, forgiving myself for allowing this to happen and recognising the wounds that led to those behaviours and situations; alongside my own inner child reparenting work, has for me allowed my healing to finally begin – at the start of my 45th year! In day to day life, noticing what triggers affect you and spark reactions of anger or fear and how this relates to your Father wound, acknowledging that this needs to be faced and worked through and journaling to allow yourself the opportunity to speak to your higher self about these issues can aid the healing process.

Crystals: Crystals that work with the solar plexus are Citrine, Tigers Eye, Ametrine, Yellow Jasper, Golden Calcite and Fire element crystals such as Fire Agate.

Archangel Healing: My meditation will be calling upon 3 Archangels – Archangel Gabriel will help us to unite our Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine energies. Archangel Raphael will be called upon to send healing relating to Father wounds and Archangel Raziel will help to ignite our creativity and give us a sense of purpose moving forward. His Rainbow ray will offer us healing that incorporates all of the colours of the rainbow and he will ignite for us our creative spark.

Essential oils: Lemon, Lemongrass, Bergamot, and Grapefruit are all uplifting oils that work well with the solar plexus energy. Also masculine, spicy oils such as Ginger, Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom and Black Pepper are all oils that can help connect to the masculine/fire aspect of the Solar Plexus.

Fox Energy Spirit Guide.

The fox is the perfect spirit animal to call upon when you need to use your discernment. Known for being cunning and sly, this is a rather harsh judgement upon the fox whose energy actually is very playful and loving once you take the time to get to know them.

Like a cat, foxes do not suffer fools and may take a long time to learn to trust you, but once the trust has been established the fox is a loyal best friend, much like a dog. The fox beautifully holds the dual energies of the cat and the dog, embodying the independent nature of the cat along with the reliability of the dog. The fox looks out for itself first and knows when to come forward and be seen and when to remain in the shadow looking out for itself. So the fox is a great energy to tap into when you need a dose of discernment and self belief.

Fox energy can help you to judge tricky people and situations and to give you a clue as to how you might manage to protect your own energy in a diplomatic, self protective manner in situations that are uncomfortable or difficult. Fox can help you to know when to speak up, but more significantly when to stay silent and allow events to unfold. If some people take this style of self shielding to be sly then so be it. Other people’s perceptions are never a priority for the fox.

Tap into Fox energy when you are in need of:

  • Using your discernment.
  • Figuring out if a person or situation is right for you.
  • Tapping into your own shadow self and facing your darker side without guilt, shame or regret.
  • Figuring out a way around situations that avoids direct confrontation.
  • Deciding between disclosure, or keeping things to yourself.
  • Being confident in your own intuition and inner knowing.

Sacral Chakra Healing.

The sacral chakra is located in the area of the womb and it is the emotional centre of our energy chakras. This area is where we can tap into our vital life force, our vitality, motivation, drive, desires, pleasure, sensuality and sexual desires.

When our Sacral Chakra is in balance we have a zest for life, we are motivated and enjoy life. We have interests, passions, things that we feel strongly about and wish to put our energy into. We know what we want, what makes us feel good, where and how to find pleasure and joy in life. We are in healthy and happy relationships that are not bound by co-dependency. We stand as sovereign individuals, in touch with our emotions, with our sexuality and with our desires and goals and we work towards achieving all we want in life.

Healing the Sacral is beneficial to do soon after, or inline with root chakra healing. Both the root and sacral chakras are feminine in nature and working with these feminine energies on grounding into our Selves and our environment before working deeply on our emotions is important and this is powerful healing work.

Symptoms of Sacral Chakra Imbalance:

  • Emotional imbalances – fear, anxiety, self-doubt, depression.
  • Co-dependant/unhealthy/toxic relationships.
  • Lack of personal boundaries.
  • Addictions.
  • Sexual dysfunction.
  • No drive, passion or desire to do anything.
  • Receiving no pleasure from life.
  • Inability to motivate yourself.
  • Physical symptoms include reproductive problems including fertility, impotence, menstrual issues, problems with reproductive organs, lower abdomen and back pain, kidney and stomach problems.

As I was working on my own sacral chakra while doing this work in October 2020, I came down very ill very suddenly. My abdomen bloated horribly and I was in a lot of pain in my lower abdomen and back areas. I couldn’t walk and had no choice but to go to bed and rest. It wasn’t until the next day when I woke up and began thinking about writing this blog that I realised that what had happened to me was a physical purging of the pent up energy I had been holding in my sacral chakra. I have never before had such an intense physical response to the spiritual inner work I have done. I spoke to a lady I know who was organising a full moon meditation for that weekend and I told her that I had been experiencing this terrible bloating due to past wounding and chakra work – she couldn’t believe it when I told her. As it turned out, she was also doing past wounding work and had had the exact same physical symptoms on exactly the same night as I had. To me this was just proof that this work is extremely important and effective. For myself it was a great confirmation that I was doing just what I needed to be doing, and also it was a warning that the Sacral Chakra work mustn’t be taken lightly. Take your time, allow yourself time to process, purge, process again. Things may come up for you that you have held dormant within yourself for many many years and you must give yourself the time you need to do this healing work thoroughly. This is not the time to be flippant. Sacral chakra healing involves the most raw and deepest wounds that we have received in this life and in all our previous lives before. This is why I have ensured I have done all the work I feel I needed personally before sitting down to write this blog.

Sacral Chakra Healing:

Colour: Orange is the colour to work with during Sacral Chakra work. As with the root chakra and all the chakras though, imagining a white light as part of the chakra healing work allows incorporation of all the colours in the spectrum to be integrated into your healing work. However, working with the colour orange is great for healing the sacral chakra. You can link in with this colour in anyway you feel but wearing orange clothes or jewellery, burning orange candles, eating orange food and visualising an orange light emanating from your sacral chakra are all ways to help integrate colour healing into your chakra work.

Water Elemental Healing: The Sacral chakra has a deep affinity with the element of water. Water is the element that is connected to our emotions. Our sacral chakra can be visualised as a cup, or chalice that sits in our womb/life force space. Within this chalice we hold the source of all life. We are the ones responsible for filling our own cups and we can do this by visualising pure white or golden light filling the space of the sacral chakra and emanating out to fill our entire aura with this replenishing light. Including water activities, especially and most importantly drinking plenty of water, is hugely important during the days and weeks the sacral chakra work is being done. Swimming, bathing, or walking near bodies of water is great for connecting with the sacral chakra.

Journaling – Mother/Womb Wound Healing: Sacral chakra work can often trigger some past trauma connected to Mother wounds. It may also trigger some wounding associated with baby loss. This is why sacral chakra work needs to be approached with an awareness of what can actually come up while doing this intense inner work. It can be shockingly traumatic for those who have suffered neglect, abuse, grief and loss and this work cannot be glossed over as anything less than raw and painful and perhaps overwhelming for those who have deeply rooted trauma linked in with Mother wounds. Once this work has been faced, purged and healed though, it can lead to a sense of peace and personal stability that can help, along with the root chakra ancestral healing, lead to a sense of personal solidity and strength that can carry us through as we continue working on integrating and healing our other chakras.

Crystal Healing: Crystals that work with the sacral chakra are Citrine, Orange Calcite or Quartz, Amber, Sunstone. Also Moonstone can help with the emotional balancing.

Archangel Healing: Again trying to pin down which of the Archangels to call in for support while doing this healing work lends no clear or definite answers. I incorporated this into my sacral chakra oracle reading and the Archangels that came out for me were Archangel Sandalphon, Archangel Jophiel and Archangel Michael. Since Sandalphon and Jophiel were both called into help with the root chakra healing this felt right for me. Archangel Sandalphon helps to gently ground us while Jophiel can help with inspiriting creativity and self care along with helping us to establish our personal boundaries. Archangel Michael, while mostly associated with the throat chakra; this being the only consistency within the research I have done in regards to Archangels and the chakara system, I felt would be perfect to call upon for protection while undergoing the intense emotional purging and healing work that links in with the sacral chakra.

Essential oils: The feminine aspect of the sacral chakra leads me to include oils such as Neroli and Ylang Ylang both of which are calming and balancing on the emotions. Along with these oils Sandalwood would be great for grounding during this work and then there are the obvious Sweet Orange and Mandarin oils to help stimulate the creative, zest for life aspect of the sacral chakra.
